Know About It!
Hitch a ride with eleven college-age
students as they take Darius Weems, 15, on a cross-country adventure
of a lifetime. Darius has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD), the
number one genetic killer of children worldwide. Before heading
west, he had never seen mountains, dipped his toes into an ocean,
or even left his hometown of Athens, Georgia. The primary goal of
this trip was to reach Los Angeles and convince MTV’s "Pimp
My Ride" to customize Darius’ wheelchair. Along the way,
this colorful crew of characters finds joy, brotherhood, and the
knowledge that life -- even when imperfect -- is always worth the
ride.
